Our pals over at Engadget Spanish managed some alone time with the device at IFA, and while we can't imagine any long-term mouse user being able to grasp this (mentally, not physically) without first overcoming a steep learning curve, those more accustomed to cellphone optical pads may be in good shape. Put simply, the ring has an optical trackpad ("Opto Touch Wheel") and an embedded 2.4GHz wireless model; wearers use their thumb to navigate the cursor, while miniature left / right click buttons do exactly what you'd expect. There's still nary a word on price, but here's hoping that we can wrap our hands -- er, something -- around this in the not-too-distant future.
Who knows, right? While those two sort out their future behind the scenes, Paul Reed Smith Guitars is stepping up to take advantage of an obvious market opportunity. The newly announced Guitarbud is a simplistic accessory that allows axe slingers to jack their guitar into an iPhone or second-generation iPod touch, all while providing a headphone output in order to keep the noise making to yourself. We're told that the device works with pretty much any recording-supported app (even Apple's own Voice Memos), though PRS obviously recommends that you check out its JamApp guitar amp simulator / tuner / training tool. Best of all, it's available today for £29.95 (or $29.95 here in the States), putting you just a few yard mowings away from securing your own personal aural sanctuary. Priced at $59.99 (U.S. MSRP), the S2m will be available for purchase at klipsch.com, InMotion and Amazon in August.
@nadiarizqihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03919866650261962095noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6908876443416519316.post-86287676211311327552009-08-01T19:08:00.000+07:002009-08-01T19:11:34.473+07:00Samsung and Intrinsity Jointly Develop New ARM Cortex A8 ProcessorAlnect Komputer : Samsung and Intrinsity jointly announced its new ARM Cortex-A8 processor architecture in 45 nanometer (nm) Low Power (LP), low leakage process technology. This Cortex-A8 implementation, code-named Hummingbird, delivers 2000DMIPS at 1GHz. The Hummingbird comes with 32KB each of data and instruction caches, an L2 Memory cache, the size of which can be customized, and an ARM NEON multi-media extension. Performance and power consumption of the Hummingbird have been validated in silicon.

A multi-Vdd / multi-frequency design methodology was used to ensure the Hummingbird can run at a high speed even at the minimum supply voltage of 1.0V. The low power consumption and the high operating clock performance make the Hummingbird an ideal processor core for use in advanced mobile devices.

“The biggest challenge in mobile processor core design and implementation is to achieve high clock speed performance while keeping the power consumption low,” said Dr. Jae Cheol Son, Vice President, SOC Platform Development, System LSI Division, Samsung Electronics. “Collaboration between Samsung and Intrinsity combines the best design and implementation technologies in the industry in successfully meeting the aggressive performance and power consumption targets of the Hummingbird. Samsung’s forthcoming SOC products based on the Hummingbird will enable our customers to add many more advanced processing capabilities to their mobile products without sacrificing battery life.”
@nadiarizqihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03919866650261962095noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6908876443416519316.post-44636320323020755112009-07-27T22:06:00.000+07:002009-07-27T22:06:00.309+07:00More Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 Photos in the Wild

Alnect Komputer : Came from one secret source on xda-developer forum, 2 sets of Xperia X2 photos are posted online with different angle of the prototype. It is currently available for users in US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The iPhone version of the friend location sharing is not a native application but released as a web application. You can visit google.com/latitude from your iPhone’s web browser, and add a bookmark of the page to your home screen. While this application will be useful to share your location with others, the iPhone edition will not run in the background and you will have to open the web application everytime you want to update your location.

Our Latitude web app provides all the core functionality you might expect: you can see the location of your friends on a map and modify your privacy settings so that you control how your location is shared and with whom. In fact, if my friends and colleagues back in London haven’t yet noticed my absence, they’ll see in Latitude that I’m currently vacationing on the beach in Australia. Hi guys, remember me!?

We worked closely with Apple to bring Latitude to the iPhone in a way Apple thought would be best for iPhone users. After we developed a Latitude application for the iPhone, Apple requested we release Latitude as a web application in order to avoid confusion with Maps on the iPhone, which uses Google to serve maps tiles.

@nadiarizqihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03919866650261962095noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6908876443416519316.post-61339029069790839922009-07-25T21:59:00.000+07:002009-07-25T21:59:00.253+07:00SlashGear Reviews HTC Hero

Alnect Komputer : Back in our initial unboxing and overview of the HTC Hero, we tongue-in-cheek suggested that it could be the best Android smartphone to date. Having spent more time with it, that cavalier prediction is looking highly accurate. Android’s flexibility is, arguably, one of its biggest stumbling blocks; out of the box there’s little to guide a new owner through the platform’s capabilities. By introducing Sense, however, HTC have made the Hero instantly usable, and they’ve done so not with the bare minimum of app investment but with a range of programs that offer up-to-date functionality like social network integration.

Best of all, HTC’s dedication to developing Sense and treating UI as a long-haul process rather than a short-term prettification exercise gives us hope that the few shortfalls and omissions we’re currently seeing in version one of the Hero will be addressed over time. It’s reassuring to know that not only is the Hero a great smartphone but that it’s only likely to get better as HTC continue their tweaks. It’s safe to say that, in the HTC Hero, Android has come of age
@nadiarizqihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03919866650261962095noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6908876443416519316.post-84296481042686159732009-07-24T20:29:00.001+07:002009-07-24T21:58:39.487+07:00New Palm webOS 1.1 Updates will fix iTunes Sync Issues

Alnect Komputer : Together with a list of many fixes and improvements, Palm has just released its webOS 1.1 software updates and it will solve your iTunes 8.2.1 sync problem. As envisioned by the company, the ideal scenario would be to drive into a compatible charging bay and power up without the need to haul around a plug like current EV owners do -- Nissan Europe's Larry Haddad estimates a 25 minute shopping trip could be enough to refill the battery back up to 80 percent.

In an admittedly more far-fetched case, the company said it's scientifically feasible to have charging plates buried just under the surface of the road for on-the-go charging. With realities like money and practicality in the way, we can't imagine that example to fruition anytime soon. In the meantime, we've still gotta wait until August to even gather a glimpse of the ZEV -- maybe by then we'll get a better idea of Nissan's plans for the technology.

@nadiarizqihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03919866650261962095noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6908876443416519316.post-26958656506698918572009-07-21T13:22:00.001+07:002009-07-21T13:22:00.342+07:00Verizon Wireless to Offer Novatel Wireless PC770
Alnect Komputer : Verizon Wireless and Novatel Wireless today announced that the PC770 2-in-1 PC Card and Express Card will be available on Sunday.
