Samsung Korea Announces Haptic 8M W740 Camera Phone

Featuring a 8 megapixel camera, Samsung has released its new camera phone, the Haptic 8M SCH-W740 in Korea this week. The model is using the TouchWiz UI, there is haptic feedback for each touch input on the 3.3-inch touch screen. Interestingly, there is a new software called Face-Tagging pre-installed on the phone. The software will identify people in the photos by matching the contact profile photo. You can then select to send text message or call the person from the photo gallery. The 8 megapixel camera is supported by a Xenon flash module and able to do auto focusing and smile detection.

Other than the HSPA 3G chipset, the new Haptic 8M is also a T-DMB digital TV phone for receiving media broadcast on the go. The phone is available in Korea for about $660 USD without service contract.
